Informa Yacht Group is a division of Informa plc, one of the world’s leading providers of information and knowledge via a wide range of media and the largest publicly-owned organiser of exhibitions and conferences. Informa plc is made up of many constituent businesses which include some of the longest-standing brands in world publishing.

Informa was created from the merger of IBC Group plc and LLP Group plc in December 1998. LLP Group plc was the publishing division of the Lloyds insurance market until 1995 when it was subject to a management buy-out. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange in April 1998. IBC Group plc was listed on the London Stock exchange in December 1985.

Although Informa only came into being as recently as 1998, it has a bloodline running back to 1734 when the first issue of the maritime publication Lloyd's List was pinned to the wall of Edward Lloyd's City of London coffee shop.
